Recipes

The following are recipes I made for the Super Sunday Sew. They were all low calorie!
I would highlight the recipe you want, copy, and then paste it into a word processing program.

CHEESEBURGER SOUP
1 lb ground beef
3/4 c onion
3/4 c diced celery
3/4 c shredded carrots
4 c diced potatoes
3 c chicken broth
8 oz velveeta cheese
1.5 c milk
1 t basil
salt & pepper
Cook and drain grease from hamburger, add other ingredients to a 5 qt pot. Cook until potatoes are done and then add the cheese and whatever you use to thicken soups. I used a bit of cornstarch mixed with water.

HAM & CHEESE BRAID
Mix 2 packages of yeast with warm water
Add 2 T oil and enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead and then roll out into a rectangle. Place 1/2 lb. of sliced ham down the center. Add swiss cheese and then place 1/2 lb. more of ham on top. Take a sharp knife and place 1" slices from the edge of the rectangle into the edge of the ingredients. Fold over each slice to form a braid. Cover and let raise 15 minutes. Brush with a beaten egg and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes.

COOKIE SALAD
2 pkgs vanilla instant pudding
2 c buttermilk
16 oz mandarin oranges
1 pkg Keebler Fudge stripe cookies
8 oz cool whip
Using an electric mixer, mix buttermilk and pudding together. Fold in coolwhip. Stir in oranges and broken cookies.

BUTTERSCOTCH CAKE
Mix together the following:
1 yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1 can Butterscotch pudding, 15 oz
Spread evenly into a greased 9" x 13" cake pan
Mix together:
1/2 c brown sugar
1 c chopped pecans
1 c butterscotch chips
Sprinkle mixture evenly over batter. Bake for 35 minutes or until done in a preheated 350 degree oven.

PUMPKIN ROLL
This will make 2 pumpkin rolls
1.5 c flour
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 t salt
2 c sugar
2 tsp baking power
4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
6 eggs slightly beaten
1 can of pumpkin
Chopped pecans

FILLING INGREDIENTS
2 c powdered sugar
2 pkgs (8oz each) cream cheese
1 stick of oleo or butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla

Mix dry ingredients together and then add the other ingredients. I mixed it up with an electric mixer. Place wax paper in 2 - 10" x 15" pans. Spray the wax paper. Divide mixture evenly amongst pans and spread evenly in the pan. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake for about 15 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven. In the meantime sprinkle powdered sugar on a towel. When cake is done, invert onto towel and roll up. Using an electric mixer, mix filling ingredients together. When the cake is cool, unroll and spread the filling and re-roll. Refrigerate.
